A for access - road

“B” for borage - forage

C for secluded

D for desert - flat

Space and distance

Space for shed

Space for hives - and expansion

Distance to water - closer than a neighbour’s source

Distance from other apiaries.

Protection from the elements

Wind

Hot - shade, away from south facing walls

Wet - flooding and damp

Cold - frost pocket

Dry - Electricity pylons!

Sun - South East facing so that wooden hives warm up in the morning
